The 5th Annual Welcome To Jamrock Reggae Cruise Was Everything And More
The Welcome to Jamrock Reggae Cruise is without a doubt a dancehall and reggae music lover’s dream. A conception of Damian Marley, the cruise, in it’s fifth year, has already accumulated massive bouts of success and is heralded as a premiere experience of Jamaican culture and music.
This year, the five-day cruise that sold out was on the beautiful Royal Caribbean’s Independence of the Seas, which departed from Fort Lauderdale, Florida and made additional stops in both Falmouth and Ocho Rios. The cruise was jam-packed with activities such as the football tournament, Sound Clash at Sea, Live Art Auction plus in-ship facilities like mini golf course, rock climbing, the movie theatre and the FlowRider surf simulator (wow!).
And did we tell you about the lineup? Outrageously good. This year featured acts such as Jr. Gong himself (who, for the first time in the cruise’s history, performed alongside his brothers Ziggy, Stephen, Julian and Ky-mani) Shenseea, Aidonia, Jah Cure, Tarrus Riley and more!
BASHY was on-board for all of the excitement and was able to speak with reggae artist Kabaka Pyramid on breaking into new markets and Kamila MacDonald on fitness, transparency and being your best and healthiest you.
If you didn’t get the opportunity to attend this time around, make sure to reserve your 2019 cabin and read our interviews below.
